Day 883 of the Adventure
After beginning our garden clearing project, the most often heard question has been. "How will you keep the deer out?" It has not been an afterthought with us. We knew from the beginning that the deer would find our garden irresistible. It's been more of a schedule priority issue than anything else. First the trees needed to be removed. Next the garden beds needed built. We needed the tractor all over the place for that. Really, the next thing would be working up the area for the greenhouse and needed the tractor for that too. Finally, the deer fence could go it when we had eliminated the possibility of dropping a tree on it or crashing through it with the tractor.
While we do not have all that preliminary stuff done, we are close enough to begin installing fence near the back of the garden area. So, today we picked up the first installment of deer fence materials. It would probably be better to wait until some of the rest is completely done, but occasionally, we need a break form one project and it helps to move over to something else for a while. So, on with some deer fence.
