Day 1,276 of the Adventure


Another month is closing quickly. For as much trouble as it is to get through January and February, March always seems to blow by in mere's days. Maybe even just hours. Now here we are on the threshold of April, which also is usually just here and then gone again. It will be the garden planting season and that alone will consume much of our activities. Springtime foraging has begun with the harvest of Redbud blossoms for Jelly. The elusive Morel hunting has begun but has left us empty handed so far. Same as previous years. I'm beginning to wonder if we simply have no Morel colonies, or whatever they're called, at the Campfire Trail. If the morels fail us again, we can always look forward to plenty of Chicken of the Woods mushrooms. They seem to grow in abundance at our place. Dogwood trees have also exploded in a splash of blossoms now. I'm not sure they're actually good for anything other than the enthusiastic pronouncement that Spring has arrived in full force. A cup of coffee by the fire in the Springtime is perhaps the best sign that a new season is upon us. Another year of hope and promise as we continue the journey of the Campfire Trail!
