Day 1,320 of the Adventure
We fought and lost a number of big sharks today........ and yesterday...........and the day before........ But today, we got into a school of African Pompano. We only got two of them, but two bit and two were landed. Which is good odds. Shelley landed one and Mike, the other. We understand it is a delicacy fish with mild, white, flakey meat. I'm certainly looking forward to that this week. My personal fishing score is pretty low so far, but I'm okay with that too. I've found that sleeping in a chair or back in the cabin is a worthwhile activity as well. I did hook up to a big shark again this afternoon, but it prevailed like most of the others. It succeeded in pulling our 54 foot, 26 ton boat around the harbor even to the point of dislodging the anchor. A relaxing day of fishing is not necessarily the goal but a relaxing day is. When the fish cooperate, we are happy, when they don't, we are still happy!
