Back On Shore - May 17

Day 1,324 of the Adventure


We arrived back to shore last night at sunset. It's the completion of an 8-day voyage at sea in the Florida Keys and beyond. The weather was mostly cooperative. We did have a couple of rough days sprinkled in to make life interesting. It's been two years to the week that we've gotten away from regular life for anything more than a day or two. I'm not sure that the pause in "regular life" to escape to the ocean was as much of an escape as I had hoped. Plenty of work followed me and kept me at least a little distracted for most of the trip. Nevertheless, a get-away is a get-away and I appreciated the time spent resting, fishing and just staring at the open ocean. We'll have a day to recover from the relaxing before we begin the long trip back home.
