Reinforcement to the Storm Shelter - June 23

Day 1,361 of the Adventure


Another day and another step closer to having the storm shelter basement done. We added part of the top cap of cement which involves buckets. Buckets of cement. Not full buckets. I couldn't do that. Like everything else, the pace of work is related to the weather and my stamina. My stamina level for buckets of cement is about five cement mixers full. Which also pretty much squares up with about three hours of work. Which also adds up to the amount of shade we have on the worksite before the sun is in full broil mode. So, as long as we can start by about 6am.......... everything works out okay! At this rate, the top cap will take three more days. We can probably trim one of those days off if we happen to get a cloudy day on the final day. It remains to be seen.
