Day 1,339 of the Adventure
Today, a milestone has been breached. We spent an afternoon with some long-time friends Mike and Melanie. For quite a while, like years, Shelley and I have been working through the mental gymnastics of how ministry structures work. A lot of it is more complicated that I care to go into here. We've always known that we have the abilities and "giftings" to help people establish themselves in ministry functions. We just have struggled with finding a way to establish an "accountability" or "authority" element for them. As of a couple of weeks ago, that seems to have resolved itself. To my satisfaction anyway. With that hurdle overcome, we've been speaking with several of those who have expressed a desire to begin ministry activities. Mike and Melanie stepped right up to the plate to share their ideas and thoughts with us. The meeting with them went well and I have no doubt that they will soon begin to step into something that's been on their hearts for a long time. Yes, this is a sidestep from the whole self-sufficiency thing, but if you heard their story, maybe it isn't so much. We'll see. I'll post updates as they come available.
