Storm Shelter Progress - June 21

Day 1,359 of the Adventure


Once again we are showing off the slow methodical progression of our basement construction. The storm shelter/food storage room block work is done. We began building the cap forms to complete the reinforcement of the walls and are preparing to backfill them with cement. Shelley said that she's happy to see something made of wood happening for a change. While this is true, the wood you see in the picture will be coming back off once the cement sets. The good news is that we will be able to start building with wood almost immediately after this step. We'll probably get the storm shelter done just in time for the end of the storm season. I guess just the thought of it was enough to intimidate the storms away from us this year!
