18 Days until March 1
Okay, so today I discovered that one of my attempts at humor has gone awry. It may even have unexpected and dire consequences. It all started when I and several un-named cohorts began publishing the odd and mysterious stories about the Rockaway Beach area. Strictly meant to raise awareness for the area about the unusual legends and phenomena that can be found here. My story about the Bigfoot migration patterns beginning last December from the Anderson area of SW Missouri to the Bull Creek basin near Rockaway Beach stirred up more controversy that I expected. What began as a story to simply make people aware of the local Bigfoot movements that were inevitable, became the subject of scorn and ridicule across the internet. (Especially on YouTube where the now infamous video was published) SEE IT HERE What???? Our broken twigs and tossed rocks aren't as "authentic" as "Real Bigfoot Hunters" broken twigs and tossed rocks??? If you want the whole article, you can read that Article Here. Don't Worry, you are not likely to encounter a Bigfoot when staying at the Cabins...…… But you never know!
The Last Resort Project
The old cabinets that are coming out |
I took a few pictures of the main house at the Black Bear Cabins (A.K.A. "The Last Resort") We know that we are going to upgrade the main house with some new, but rustic looking pine cabinets in the kitchen. I plan to remove the kitchen cabinets tomorrow. This house has been subjected to the wear and tear of the monthly rental business since long before we owned them. This house is going to finally receive some badly needed attention and we will be documenting it with pictures all along the way.
“Adventure,' then, is what might otherwise be called hardship if it were attempted in a different spirit. Turning a difficult task or a perilous journey into an adventure is largely a matter of telling yourself the right story about it. ~ Laura Miller
