February 15 - Resort Adventures

February 15, 2019
Day 46 - 319 Days to go
14 Days until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark (Dark French Roast Colombian)

Two weeks until March first and we had some winter weather attempt to move in on us today. At times there was sleet, freezing rain, regular rain and little spits of snow. At 4:30 it's all just wet. It's not stopping a crowd of fishermen that are due to arrive sometime this evening. I'm sure they'll be glad that 40's are in the forecast for tomorrow.

I spent a good part of the day at the house at "The Last Resort". At one point I was passing by the miter saw and noticed a familiar sight. It made me pause to think that I needed to get my traveling coffee cup pics going again. It's the "Where's Waldo" of the resort world.

The Last Resort Project

The project today included repairing some spots in the floor near the kitchen cabinets before the cabinet construction commences. I've been selectively sorting through the old pine paneling from the original cabinets for anything that can be used on the new ones. Not trying to be cheap. It's just that the old solid pine paneling they used to construct them is so interesting and nostalgic. It would be really nice to integrate some of it into the new ones.

The rest of the scrap is making it's way to the small little bon-fire out back. Even if it's just scraps of lumber, a bon fire makes a cold wet day feel good.
