Day 47 - 318 Days to go
13 Days until March 1
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Caramel Apple (just seemed right for a cold, drizzly day)
As I was going about my business today at The Resorts, my phone pinged and wouldn't you know, it was my fishing guide buddy sending me some pics of his excursion of the day. I get calls all the time from people who are thinking of making reservations at The Resorts. Many of them know the lakes and fishing here pretty well. Many do not. I get asked "How's the fishing been? more times than I can recall. Honestly, I'm not sure there's a time when the fishing here is bad. You just need to know the when, where, who and how. A Previous owner here at the Rainbow Haven Resort used to answer, "It depends on how good of a fisherman you are!"
Now don't ask me where he caught them all. Since he earns his living as a guide, I've promised to never ask where he caught them or what he used. Crappies (as are trout and bass) are abundant in Lake Taneycomo. Bass and Crappie, in addition to my personal favorite, Walleye, are plentiful in Bull Shoals lake just a couple miles from here. When you are ready to get serious about stringers like this, let me know, I'll get you in touch with Jordan. He can make the magic happen for you!
Outside of being heckled by Jordan's fish pics, my day was pretty much confined to working on little projects around the Rainbow Haven house. Notably, a "Baby Gate" to keep our grandson from wandering off into the basement stairway. Another winter storm warning is called for tonight but I'm not too worried. There's fire in the fireplace, I have a workshop full of tools, materials and projects and plenty of Base Camp Coffee!
What else could you ask for?
