February 5 - Resort Adventures

February 5, 2019

Day 36 - 329 Days to go
24 Days until March 1

Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark (Colombian Dark French Roast)

While the temps were not quite as warm as yesterday, they were still tolerable enough to get the power washing done that needed done.  I also have to admit that at Day 36...… I got my posting dates screwed up. So you may see 2 posts for February 5. It's not Deja Vu, or "Groundhog Day syndrome. It's simply me not remembering what day it is! "Not remembering what day it is", is a symptom of The Resort Adventure! It's why I chose the Colombian Dark Roast coffee for the coffee of the day. I think I need something strong!

Not remembering what day it is happens when any and every day may be the equivalent of a weekend, a week day, a holiday, work day or day off. Most of the time, there is no planning or preparing for it. Holidays are the ones that catch me off guard the most. I can sometimes plan my entire day around getting things done only to find out that the banks, posts offices and almost everything else is closed due to a holiday. The big holidays are not as much of a problem in this respect because we have to get prepared for things like Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day. It's the medium to small ones that sneak up on you. Personally, our weekends are usually Monday through Thursday. Our work days are the Fridays through Sundays when everyone else is experiencing their weekend. Oh well, I'll get over it.

It's now only 24 days until March 1. I realize that I may be sending a wrong message by relating the beginning of our "Season" to March 1. We are not closed during the winter. It's just that the word "March" seems to trigger the "springtime" attitude in people. All of a sudden, everyone is ready to get back to enjoying the Great Outdoors. It's when the resort business begins coming back from the wintertime dormancy.

I really didn't get any good pictures of what we were up to today, so here's something from the gift shop. It's our new design Rockaway Beach, Lake Taneycomo shirt, They come in several colors, and the same design is available on hoodies as well. Stop by the tackle shop when you're in the area to see all of them.

“The journey is the destination.”
