Day 69 - 296 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake (Sumatra/Colombia) in honor of our paddleboat that was out "lost on the lake" this morning after all the wind yesterday broke it loose from the dock.
So once again, I was out rescuing our wayward paddleboat. As you may guess, it is not the first time. In fact I think I've been involved in seven or eight paddleboat rescues in the last three years. Sometimes it's simply the weather like today that breaks it loose. Sometimes it's our guests that take it too far out in the lake (especially the downstream direction) and don't have enough horsepower left to paddle it back. Occasionally we get someone who simply takes it for a joy ride and doesn't bring it back. That happened a couple years ago when Craig was still here. We went on a mission to find it and chronicled the story of finding it and bringing it back home. Here's a Link to the Rescue Story.
There's definitely a growing sense that Spring is within reach. The parking lot was full of trucks and boat trailers today. There was a little business in the tackle shop but still a little slow there. Looking back at last year and the year before, this is the weekend before Spring Break (I guess) and every year it's the same, slow this week and crazy next week.

The Last Resort Project:
Shelley went up to The Last Resort today and did some primer in the rooms so it would have a day to dry before we started in on it again this week. Another day and another step forward.
