March 9 - Resort Adventures

March 9, 2019
Day 68 - 297 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombia)

I experienced a lazy day today. Temperatures broke 70 degrees. There were quite a few fishermen (and women) on the lake and a number of boats. But, it was so windy that there were whitecaps on the water which is pretty unusual for this lake. I did a little time in the office, tackle shop, kitchen, easy chair and not much else. Our grandson was here all day and we had some fun with him. I think he may be the most popular personality we have. Today he wandered into the fishing pole area. I couldn't resist doctoring up his picture a little.

The tackle shop has spent the winter collecting an assortment of stuff that needed organized, priced out and hung on the walls. As good as the fishing is in the winter, not many people get out in the cold or visit the shop for that matter. That's okay since it gives us a break from the "Open 12 hours per day in the Spring and Summer. So as of now, we are pretty well stocked back up for the fishing season.

There were thunderstorms last night and into the morning and I was surprised to see a lone pontoon boat cruising around in the storms and rain. They were moving along a popular trolling area for trout so I'm sure they were fishing and not simply trying to become a lightning rod. But you never know, By noon the sun was out, temps were up and so was the wind.

The picture doesn't do it justice, but the waves on the lake were pretty intense. The boat was going with the wind and was making extra good time.

The Last Resort Project:
We gave The Last Resort a break for the day. (or it gave us a break) I'm sure we will get after it again tomorrow depending on how busy things get down here by the lake.

When in town, Make sure to stop by the tackle shop and see the new gift items we received this week.

Call me at: 417-234-4394 to order one for shipment right to your door!
