Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake (Colombia/Sumatra blend)
Last night was the coldest night of the year here bottoming out around 8 degrees. Okay, I've had enough of that now. However, as cold as it got, the pool did not have ice on it. Evidently the recent warm weather had the water just warm enough to keep the ice at bay.
I noticed another winter phenomenon last night. The LP bottles to the Fireplace always run out on the coldest nights! …….. Why is that? It almost seems like conspiracy material to me..... But what do I know!
The Last Resort Project:
The Last Resort was on the work list again today. I'm afraid if we don't get at it during the colder weather, we won't have time when things get nice and all the fishermen come out of hiding. Shelley was busy in the bedrooms getting them textures and ready for paint. I've still been busy with the kitchen walls, ceiling, floor and cabinets.
We have this thing where once a renovation project starts, we have a hard time drawing the line between where we should stop and where we tend to take the project. In this case, what started as a floor replacement turned into cabinets then knotty pine wood paneling on the walls, then on the kitchen ceiling and so on.
There's no telling how much we actually end up doing, but whatever it is, it will look good.
“Sometimes in business, you get a whack on the side of the head, sometimes a gentle nudge out of your comfort zone. Either can be a blessing in disguise.”
