Day 234 - 131 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost up the Creek (Colombian)
After what seemed like forever of hot hot weather, we got our first real break in the heat today and it's looking like moderating temperatures for a week or so. I think it will take us to Labor Day Weekend. I decided it was enough of a change to start thinking campfires and campfire coffee.
Yes, That's an authentic picture of my campfire coffee pot, taken at our fire pit. It was last year but the sight of it is getting me in the mood! This time of year is when the Bald Eagles on the lake really start getting more active so we'll be looking forward to that soon as well. I went up to Cap'n Ray's this morning just to have a cup of coffee with him before the rest of the sleepy town got up and going. He's always good for a story and a laugh. Ray can enjoy the simple things in life unlike most people I know. Last night as a warm summer rain passed through, Brad told me that he saw Ray standing out in it with his face turned toward the sky simply enjoying the shower and relief from the intense heat. Maybe I should try that some time. I do get rained on often enough but have never just stood there to enjoy it!

The Last Resort Project
The boys are making remarkable progress on the cabins. One more has gotten the water lines repaired and working normally. I'm not quite sure exactly what happened there last night but I think one of them has now chalked up an incident of his own very similar to my story of being handcuffed and sitting in the back of a police car. I'm not sure who was in the right and who was in the wrong, but the man with the cuffs prevailed for at least a little while. He was released and everything was okay! It almost reminded me of the July 4th incident with Craig a few years back when he was ready to take on the entire police force, the county sheriff's department and all the firefighters single handedly over some caution tape he felt was encroaching on his guest area. At one point I had to physically restrain him with a bear hug to keep him from a handcuff and police car experience. I told him I was going to duct tape him to a telephone pole if he didn't calm down.
Sigh...…. Life at the Resorts!
The only thing I can say about all that is "WHAT are the rest of you waiting for? ..…. An invitation to join the CLUB???"
“Let your boys test their wings. They may not be eagles, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't soar free.”
