September 22 - Resort Adventures - Week 38 In The Books

September 22, 2019
Day 265 - 100 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark ( Colombian Dark French Roast)

Here we are with another week in the books at the resorts. Sundays are the "Going Home Day" for many of our guests throughout the year. It's generally a slower day for us and a busier day for our housekeepers. After running around taking care of business all week and then the mayhem on Saturday, I usually try to enjoy a peaceful Sunday morning coffee until the mid-morning fishermen start making their way to the lake. That almost always includes the sunrise. I guess I've reached the age where me and the sun are generally making our appearance about the same time.

We said goodbye to a large group of annual trout fishermen this morning. There was 13 of them this year. They spent two entire days on two pontoon boats with everyone catching their limit both days. The trip culminated in their traditional Saturday night fish fry down by the water. They've already said they'll be back again next year and to "keep the lights on" for them.

I noticed that we are down to 100 days left before the end of the year. By then, I'll be about one third of the way through my 90 days until Spring countdown. While the year is far from over, I'm already calling it a great year at The Resorts.

The Last Resort Project: I stopped by late tonight to have some coffee by their fire. The plan tomorrow is to get a bunch of unfinished projects around Cabin 5 completed.
