Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavors)
Today was day three in the roof tear off and rebuild on Cabin 75 at the treehouses. While the cabins are beautiful, sometimes I wonder what they were thinking when they built them. The construction was very conventional up to the roof. The roof was built like a pole barn roof. Thus the frequent problems with leaks and flying squirrels. (see yesterdays post)
While it's not a complicated fix, it is more complicated than just a "re-roofing" job. Without a conventional roof structure, we are basically starting over from scratch at the top of the walls and building the entire roof. Once done it will eliminate roof leaks, make the rooflines uniform with each other and finally, we are building them to make the addition of a third bedroom possible at some point.
All in a days work!
