Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Lake (Colombia/Sumatra blend)
The morning started early for 58 kayakers fishing a Bass Tournament on the lake today. The MoYak group was in town, and in the past, I've seen them up and going around 4:30 in the morning. I didn't get out that early this morning, but they were there. It was a heavy fog in the morning that eventually gave way to sun and heat. By 2:30, the tournament had ended and they all returned. The award ceremony was conducted at the Rainbow Haven Resort firepit and the winner with a total length of 85 inches won a first prize of over $1,500. Kayakers measure their catch in inches rather than weight, that way they can document the fish with a camera and release it immediately back to the water. They concluded their day with a bon fire and from what I could tell, they considered the event a great success.
