Day 370 of the Adventure

After months of talking about the Log Siding for the cabin, it's finally here and getting installed. Once it arrived, we had to dismantle our temporary outdoor kitchen so we could begin the work. The kitchen was replaced by a temporary, Outdoor, Do-It-Yourself workshop. All of the tools for installing siding are now strewn about the back yard taking turns doing their part in the process. It's just another characteristic of the Do-It-Yourself life.

Our main cabin is a small 300 square feet. It is actually being built as a future workshop. There will come a time when lumber prices hopefully return to normal, and we will plan on building a normal house. Until then, the cabin will be home and the back yard will be the workshop. Neither of us are complaining about it. The more we get done on the cabin, the cozier it is beginning to feel. The backwoods life is quiet, comfortable and easy to acclimate to. Somewhere in the depths of our shipping container is a set of Moose antlers. As I sit here by the fire and look at the front door of the cabin, I can see the perfect spot for them right above the door. I know we are not in Moose country, but I don't care. Can't let a good set of Moose antlers go to waste!
