April 5 - The Campfire Trail - The Math is NOT Working Out

Day 917 of the Adventure

I've never been very good with complex math but even the simple math, like adding and subtracting seems to be beyond my grasp today. Let me explain. When we started our garden, our intention was to build nine raised beds. That plan was simple, nine beds. I noticed that after six of them were done, that it appeared that we would have to subtract one from the list and end up with eight. Simple math. Upon hearing this, Shelley declared that would never do. After looking and measuring, I figured we could add one back in a different location. Add one to the list back to nine. Simple math. From there it got more complicated. Suddenly there was yet another added to the list. Now we're at ten. Before I could get the stakes in the ground, we had increased the beds by yet two more (I use the term we, because technically there were both of us there) Now we are at twelve. While scratching my head and looking around the garden, yet another was added. Now we are at thirteen. How did this happen. I was getting used to the fact that only three more beds needed to be built. I was excited to think that maybe that would actually be two more when all of a sudden, I was looking at seven more instead of two more. This math is not working in my favor AT ALL!
