April 7 - The Campfire Trail - Shelley's Big Day

Day 919 of the Adventure

We experienced a "Life Highlight" today, even though the actual date had passed a couple weeks ago. We finally had the opportunity to share in Shelley's birthday with all of the kids and grandkids. Shelley has never seemed to overly sensitive about her age and actually stays in very good physical condition. This occasion was her 65th birthday and she was determined to not celebrate until everyone could be together for it. That day was today and it happened with a "Taco Bar" of build your own Mexican feast. Also included were cake, ice cream, playing with grandkids, a national championship basketball game that we won't talk about and finally a corn-hole competition. Our family has never been worried about the date of a celebration and sometimes have even celebrated things like Christmas over a month late. It's okay. When the timing works, we celebrate. Shelley's birthday was that way this year.
