The Inevitable Winter Blast - February 19 - The Campfire Trail

February 19, 2025

Day 1,237 of the Adventure

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Snow and sub-zero temps. At the same time. It's not something that happens terribly often. Not here in the Ozarks. Sometimes once or twice per year, sometimes, not more often than once every three or four years. We ended last night with about six inches of very dry, powdery snow along with three degrees by this morning. Tonight, we're expecting six below zero. This snow is not among the charming variety. It's more of the "Bite you in the Face" variety. After tonight, things slowly begin to improve over the following four or five days. By the time we reach 60 degrees in about four days, we'll only have a half week left before March and 50 plus degrees for as far as can be seen from there. It's almost over. In no time, we'll be back to the house building. I guess the reminder of winter must leave an impression on us to carry our appreciation for spring, summer and fall through to next winter. Almost There!

Carry On

Adventure Quote: “By March, the worst of the winter would be over. The snow would thaw, the rivers begin to run and the world would wake into itself again. ― Neil Gaiman
