The Grumpy Prepper - March 3 - The Campfire Trail

Day 1,249 of the Adventure


The other day, my son asked an Artificial Intelligence ap to come up with a story for a pair of grandparents living in the woods. He asked it to be a comedy. It immediately blurted back a story line for the grandparents, and a couple of grandkids. It referred to the grandpa in the story as a "Grumpy Prepper". At first, I tried to figure out if it had somehow known who we were and was just being overly sarcastic. Or if it simply assumed that anyone in that situation would fit this description. Either way, the more I thought, the more I realized that it's a perfect caricature of grandparents living in the woods. It identified Shelley as an artist/hippy/gardener.  I suppose that would kind of fit her role here in the backwoods as well. Partly anyway. The Grumpy Prepper, however, is something I believe I can run with. 

I do not typically go out and sit on a rock with a frosty mug like in the pic. But I do often retreat into the woods at sit on a rock and stare into the trees with a mug of coffee. Normally, it involves just thinking......... or not thinking. The grumpiness can ensue at nearly anytime and often at a moment's notice. Finally, as far as "prepping" is concerned, it's not a life and death proposition for me. I'm happy to be prepared for the basics and a few of the "beyond basics". 

Since I feel uniquely qualified as a Grumpy Prepper, I've decided to add an occasional posting as the Grumpy Prepper. Each will be a bit of prepper knowledge spiced with a side of grumpy to go with it.
