Day 187 - 178 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Woods (Colombia/Costa Rica blend)
Today is one of the hardest days for many of our guests. It is the final full day of vacation and the reality is beginning to set in that they will be packing up tomorrow morning (or even tonight) for the journey home tomorrow morning. Rainbow Haven Resort has been a 25+ year tradition with many of our guests and it has truly become their second home. The group that shows up here every year at this time have become as close to "family" with each other as they can be. So today is a bit of a bittersweet event. The final day they will all be together until next year. BUT...… They are making the most of it by wrangling their boats out on the lake for a bit of fishing. The low water has put a damper on the fishing part of the vacation, but a stronger power generation schedule allowed them to navigate the shallows just enough to make it past the 200 or so feet from the dock to open water.
Some of the "Tribe" is staying on a few extra days, so the fun will continue. Plus, as one group leaves, more are due to arrive tomorrow. To the outside eye, the activity will not diminish at all, just different faces will be lounging around the pool and tormenting each other with delicious smelling creations from the barbecue grills.
Long Live the Summer!
