Day 188 - 177 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost on the Trail (Guatemala)
After the busy and bustling July 4th week, today was "going home" day for most of our holiday guests. While a busy day for our housekeeper, our day was mostly a rest and recovery day. With nothing particularly pressing, I ended up sitting out on the front deck for a good part of the day simply staring out at the lake and drinking coffee, then iced tea as the temperature increased throughout the day. It's not uncommon to see a variety of birds like geese, ducks, herons or even Bald Eagles flying by over the lake. While sitting there enjoying the calm, something white caught my eye over the lake/ It was about the size and color of the Pelicans that stop over here for a few weeks in the Spring. Turns out it was a Radio Controlled Float Plane. This was a new one to me. Occasionally, we see people with RC boats chasing around on the water but this was the first time to see a plane. It's owner was out there for about an hour making it dive and maneuver around the island area.
Just another one of those interesting things.
