Day 127 - 239 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Dark (Colombia Dark French Roast)
I'm sitting here on a beautiful evening watching the day winding down. There was a family staying near here from Minnesota, happy to get away on the lake for some cruising and sight-seeing. I love being a part of the "Vacation Business". It's sometimes easy to get caught up in the "Grass is Greener" in someone else's back yard. But to people from far away, we are the "greener grass" and even if it's all pretty much the same everywhere, we get to be the "fun time" other people have when they come for a visit.
This particular group was exactly the right type for me to recite my "Boating Rules" for.
Rule number 1:
NO MUTINY'S ALLOWED!..... The captain makes the decisions and everyone has to obey! (This is when the first grumblings of MUTINY usually begin, especially if family, and especially, spouses, are on board)
Rule number 2:
NO THROWING EACH OTHER OVERBOARD!.....Unless they absolutely deserve it!...… If the captain gets thrown overboard, the rest of the crew has to elect a new captain!
Rule number 3:
TRY TO COME BACK WITH THE SAME NUMBER YOU LEFT WITH!...…. Even if it's not the same people!...…… SO...… if you can trade up while you're out there...….What happens on the Lake, stays on the Lake!
