Day 895 of the Adventure

The excitement was nearly unbearable. The idea of new bunk bed camping cots was almost more than we could stand. Fortunately, each boy claimed a different bunk so we were able to avoid any territorial conflicts there. Normally, neither of them would be too anxious to take an afternoon nap, but both requested one. Presumably to try out their new bunks. Even though we agreed and actually tried to slip in a nap ourselves at the same time........ It was obvious that the nap was a rouse to just climb in early and try out all the extra pockets and pouches hanging from the side. It was a short-lived event. I suppose I could legitimately claim about 15-20 minutes worth of sleep between the giggling from across the room. Nevertheless, the cot testing seemed to have been a success and they are ready for serious use later tonight.

The day included riding around on the golf cart picking up sticks for the campfire, starting the campfire, throwing sticks at the campfire and then abandoning the campfire altogether in search of more adventure. Shelley took them to the playground down the road at the local Marina and Campground for a spell before some storms moved in. Flinging a Boomarang took up part of the day. Looking for mushrooms, odds and end other activities that I can't even describe, lunch and then a surprise. They each received a battery lantern to light their way to the bathroom (on the other side of the cabin......... roughly 12 feet away from the bunks) We watched lightning out the back window and are currently ending the evening with a movie. Believe it or not, they didn't even request the tablets they brought along in the event of boredom. I'd say it's been a success so far. Then tomorrow, we start again!
