May 30 - Resort Adventures

May 30, 2019
Day 150 - 215 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Lost in the Fog (Guatemala Decaf)

Every day at the resorts does not always bring out the most exciting of experiences. Today has been a day like this. We had a number of people out on boats that got bumped over to today because of the stormy weather yesterday. I tested out a contraption for removing weeds around the dock that seems to be working pretty well. I've only made seven or eight passes at it so far but it looks to be doing the job. A slow day riding a boat around the lake that's actually work related is hard to beat.

Today also marks the 150th consecutive day so far this year at publishing the "Resort Adventure" postings. I have hoped that it provides a small amount of entertainment. It's mostly been for my benefit in my quest to discipline myself to writing something every day. (It's harder than you would think) ALSO...….It's probably good that every day doesn't product the kinds of things that people really enjoy reading about like catastrophe's and floods and contrary Rock Buoys and the like...… I don't think I could take that kind of thing every day.

Mostly the Adventure is in my personal experiences and by me if no one else. Adventure to me can be sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise knowing that I don't have to rush off to a job like I did for years. It can be very busy at times, but I've decided that no matter how many things there are to do, I'll do them as time allows without being stressed that the to do list will never really be completed. In the meanwhile I get the privilege of providing an adventure for my new Grandson. One that he will have embedded in his memories for a lifetime.

For small children, the least little "Good Experience" makes for lifetime memories. I hope that he grows up having a enduring fondness for the old fishing resort that Grandpa and Grandma had down by the lake. If so, the whole thing will have been worth it.

The Last Resort Project: I know there has been painting going on up there but won't get back up there myself until tomorrow.
