Day 231 - 134 Days to go
Base Camp Coffee of the Day: Highlander Grogg (Butterscotch/Rum flavor)
Monday is almost always our running around, getting supplies, paying bills and "out and about" day. All of that happened today plus a little side trip to look at some other resort properties. Some affordable, some not. Some lakeside, some not. Some with retail options, some not. It was an interesting day. I think we found two or three investment opportunities that would really work well once we find a buyer for The Rainbow Haven Resort. One in particular really stood out to us. It would be about three times the size and scope of our Rainbow Haven, Cross Timbers Cabins and The Last Resort combined. With Cross Timbers Cabins only a week away from closing, these new possibilities are starting to become a little more realistic.

The Last Resort Project
The guys have been kicking the improvements into high gear at The Last Resort. (I may need to come up with a new name for it soon since it's gaining so much positive ground lately) They pulled up a section of bad floor in Cabin 5 and are beginning to rebuild it. Their enthusiasm for this kind of work is amazing.
These old fishing cabins have retained much of their charm with knotty pine paneling and just the cozy look which goes back to an era where the vacation life was a simpler one. With the demand for bigger, better, newer, faster and more convenient, these old cabins are special to me. They are a reflection of the little cabins by the lake I stayed in as a kid and there's just no other substitute for those fond memories. I'm glad to see some TLC going back into them.
“An adventurous life does not necessarily mean climbing mountains, swimming with sharks, or jumping off cliffs. It means risking yourself by leaving a little piece of you behind in all those you meet along the way.”
